I believe you are talking about a 802.11 bridge like the Linksys WET11

The unit offers an ethernet port for your wired device and can
establishes a wireless connection with an AP.  It includes support for
128-bit WEP.  Downside is that it's probably not any cheaper than buying
a wireless card that functions under FreeBSD.
