How is "tip" spelled on Linux-speak?

That's a symptom of devfsd not being told to leave /dev/ttySn alone when 
you access it, and of course serial features don't need a module, we
built that in anyway.  I should add that to the devfs whacking.  In the
meantime, I believe devfsd has a control file in /etc that can be
tickled (see the dev mouse example for leaving the entry alone and/or
pulling the right module), and the daemon can be killed and restarted.
