unix laptop question: closing the lid

I have a Thinkpad 600X. There is an option to not have the lid do anything.

Two ways to configure this.

One is with the PS2.EXE program (for DOS) that can set this up.

The other is the tpctl program for Linux. This requires a kernel module
called thinkpad.o to be loaded. (available from the same place as tpctl.)
